It’s time we balance Louisiana’s scales

We desperately need to make long-term economic investment plans for our state. The way to do that isn’t through eliminating Louisiana’s state income tax or cutting our homestead exemptions.

Eliminating state income taxes and homestead exemptions disproportionately impacts low-income and working-class people. Since the money has to come from somewhere, some legislators plan to increase our sales tax to make up for the difference – which is already the highest in the nation at 9.55%.
