Louisiana has traditionally been an oil and gas state and that's helped our revenue for many generations. But things are starting to change and I don’t think we're adapting.

We've been losing energy jobs for decades. Our economy doesn't rely on oil and gas revenue so much anymore, but here we are going out of our way to protect one industry at the expense of diversifying our economy. It's driving us deeper into economic problems.

It was my pleasure to share my vision for a brighter future for Louisiana on Talk Louisiana with Jim Engster Monday morning. I was proud to speak more about the revolutionary concept of being honest about the state of our economy.
